Little Hearts

Little Hearts is a ministry for families with kids ages ~10 and younger (though we welcome folks of all ages!) LH is open to the public, to people from any faith community or none. Throughout the year we offer social events for moms and for dads, informal meet-up dates at playgrounds, and other venues for children and parents to get to know each other. We don’t want anyone to feel alone in the wild, wacky, wonderful ride of parenthood–and don’t worry; we also don’t take ourselves too seriously. 

We know that navigating parenthood can be a whirlwind full of emotions, and it’s a blessing when you can share the joys and challenges with others who get it. We pride ourselves in being inclusive, informal, and building a culture that fits with contemporary family life.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children in preschool through age 9 are warmly welcomed to learn about their faith with other young Christians their age. During Sunday Masses all year round, children are dismissed during the Liturgy of the Word to have their own fun time of fellowship together. No need to register; children can join in when they’re invited forward and dismissed during Mass.

Faith Across Ages

One of the defining qualities of Sacred Heart’s parish family is our commitment to building community among people of all ages and stages of life. Faith Across Ages (FAA) is an intergenerational faith-sharing ministry that offers short-term programming throughout the year.

In a FAA program, the whole community gathers first for celebration and refreshments. Then, young people break out into their own parallel activities, while adults hear a presentation and have small group discussion. When the young people return, they share with the large group, and each of the adult small groups do the same, so that everyone can learn from one another’s lived experiences of faith.
